TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ReliaQuest, the leader in Open XDR-as-a-service, today announced it expanded its partnership with 3DE National, a non-profit organization dedicated to re-engineering high school education nationwide. ReliaQuest and 3DE’s partnership started in 2019, launching for more than 300 students across three local high schools. The expanded program adds four Tampa Bay high schools with ReliaQuest as the case challenge for its tenth-grade students. This marks the first time high schools from Tampa Bay worked locally with ReliaQuest on a cybersecurity curriculum.
3DE was created by Junior Achievement to provide a meaningful way for businesses to positively impact the future of education. 3DE students apply learnings from core content areas to develop solutions to authentic challenges experienced by leading businesses. This unique approach combines traditional learning practices with real-world project experiences to capture the attention of all learners and provide all students access and exposure to high-growth cybersecurity careers.
"We think about the talent shortage in cybersecurity as a skills transfer issue,” said ReliaQuest CEO Brian Murphy. "There are enough people ready to raise their hand and help with this issue, we need to better equip them with the right skills. Working with 3DE we can use real-world examples to engage high school students and inspire them to start a career in cybersecurity. ReliaQuest continues to make such initiatives a priority, and 3DE has been a great partner, now reaching students in our own local Tampa Bay community."
By being more relevant, experiential, and authentically connected to the complexities of the real world, students are more fully prepared for the demands of tomorrow’s economy and are more likely to excel in their overall education. In 2020, the 3DE program generated 42% fewer chronically-absent students on average compared to host school peers. Additionally, 71% of 3DE students scored proficient or above others on state end-of-course assessments, and 90% of rising 10th-12th grade students are on-track for graduation, while 89% of high school seniors participated in internships/consultancies.
“3DE’s mission to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy aligns perfectly with Junior Achievement’s mission, making this partnership a no-brainer,” said Scott Price, board chair of Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay. “3DE is making an impact locally in the Tampa Bay community, something JA Tampa Bay has been doing since 1965.”
ReliaQuest’s curriculum partnership with 3DE will be available in Tampa-area schools including Chamberlain High School (Tampa) and Hillsborough High School (Tampa). Additional 3DE locations include: Dunedin High School (Dunedin), St. Petersburg High School (St. Petersburg), Lake Worth High School (Lake Worth, FL), Osceola High School (Kissimmee, FL), Banneker High School (College Park, MD), Martin Luther King High School (Stonecrest, GA), Norcross High School (Norcross, GA) and Parkview High School (Lilburn, GA).
