Priority Health Launches New MyPriority Travel Plans Ideal for Consumers Working Remotely

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Priority Health announced today the launch of their new MyPriority Travel plans that will go into effect on January 1, 2022. The new plans are designed for consumers who want to travel, both for work and leisure, but still need health coverage when outside the state of Michigan. Members will have access to the same comprehensive in-network benefits when receiving covered services and care from any Cigna provider outside Michigan and within the United States.

“As we are slowly emerging from the pandemic, an increase in remote work has opened doors for many consumers when it comes to when and where they can travel, and we wanted to respond to this growing market need,” said Carrie Kincaid, Vice President of Individual Markets at Priority Health. “Between our new travel plans and innovative virtual-first offerings, we are committed to meeting our members where they are and providing health coverage that meets their unique needs and lifestyles.”

Members who choose one of the MyPriority Travel plans can find Cigna providers outside of Michigan by using the Priority Health Find A Doctor tool. With these plans, members’ benefits, deductible amount, cost sharing and out-of-pocket costs will remain the same when a Cigna provider is used for care outside of Michigan.

“Our goal is for our members to be able to go about their lives and continue to have seamless access to high quality and affordable health coverage,” Kincaid noted. “We have one of the strongest networks in Michigan, and we are excited to continue partnering with Cigna to provide care to our members when they are traveling.”

The MyPriority Travel plans also offer full coverage for preventive care and added benefits like reduced copays on prescription drugs, diabetes and chronic condition services, supplies and treatments, global emergency assistance through Assist America, and discounted prices for gym memberships. The plans are available to individuals and families who live in the MyPriority service area. Offered exclusively on Priority Health’s broad network, individuals can choose an affordable Bronze or Silver metal level Travel plan.
