CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, AmerisourceBergen (AB), a global healthcare company, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of its new global headquarters in Conshohocken, Pa. The 429,000 sq. ft. facility designed by Gensler includes tech-enabled conference and business centers, a fitness center, and dining site services. The new building is part of SORA West -- a multi-faceted complex developed by Keystone Property Group which will include a 127-room boutique hotel, rooftop bar and lounge, public plaza, two new restaurants, and a 1,500-space parking garage. Team members working at the location can enjoy direct access to public and bike-friendly transportation options, as well as over sixty restaurants and other retail amenities in downtown Conshohocken. During the event, AB leaders also announced that the company has been recognized as a Great Place to Work®.
“When people see our headquarters, I want them to know that it represents so much more than an office space – it represents a workforce that’s dedicated to ensuring access to vital medications and therapies here in the U.S. and across the globe,” said Steve Collis, Chairman, President & CEO of AmerisourceBergen. “Our team members in the Philadelphia region and beyond play a vital role in keeping the health care supply chain moving every day, and I am so proud of their efforts, especially during the pandemic. Our new building in Conshohocken is a concrete example of our commitment to our team members here and I can’t wait to see what this next chapter of our company’s history brings.”
As a part of AmerisourceBergen’s efforts to promote sustainability and employee wellbeing, the new office houses a state-of-the art fitness facility, modern standing desks at all workstations, an onsite café with healthy food and snack options. The company is actively pursuing a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification. “Our new global headquarters has been thoughtfully designed and strategically located to promote team member engagement, and I believe the building is an accurate reflection of our culture and purpose to create healthier futures,” said Silvana Battaglia, Chief Human Resources Officer at AmerisourceBergen. “Whether teams choose to come into the office or work from home, we’re excited to have this resource available to team members and continue our flexible work dynamic. Maintaining a positive and productive workplace culture is extremely important to us, and we’re beyond proud to announce that our team members have deemed us a Great Place to Work for the third consecutive year.”
Data was collected and validated by Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture, on AmerisourceBergen’s positive company culture, workplace experience and contribution to the community. According to the third-party survey conducted, 85 percent of employees said AmerisourceBergen is a great place to work – 26 points higher than the average U.S. company. 88 percent of employee respondents said they are proud to tell others they work for the company.
AmerisourceBergen and the AmerisourceBergen Foundation, an independent not-for-profit charitable giving organization focused on supporting health-related causes that enrich that global community, also acknowledged community grants and corporate gifts totaling $150,000 during today’s ribbon cutting ceremony. The Foundation has provided local community grants to All 4 Paws Rescue, Colonial Neighborhood Council, Patrician Society of Central Norristown, Schuylkill River Greenway Association, and Victim’s Services Center of Montgomery County. Through a corporate gift, national nonprofit Fresh Artists was able to install and display large-scale reproductions of children’s art throughout AmerisourceBergen’s headquarters. More than a third of the artwork was made by K-12 children in Norristown public schools. Fresh Artists mission is to ensure all children have access to art by delivering quality supplies and innovative art programs to under-funded public schools.
“At the AmerisourceBergen Foundation, we work tirelessly to foster diverse, equitable and inclusive partnerships that create healthier lives and communities and continuing that mission in our own backyard is incredibly important to us,” said Gina Clark, President of the AmerisourceBergen Foundation. “With the opening of our new headquarters, we are thrilled to announce partnerships with local organizations that have a direct impact on the people and animals that live here in this region, and we cannot wait to continue our partnerships and grow new ones in the years to come.”
