AMES, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The SEC Professionals Group, who represent over two-thirds of large public companies in the United States, today announced Lindsay McCord, Chief Accountant for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Division of Corporation Finance, will speak at its quarterly meeting. Ms. McCord will be joined by Robert Telewicz, Accounting Branch Chief in the Office of Real Estate and Commodities, Division of Corporation Finance, SEC. The meeting will be held virtually on September 21, 2021, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT, during the Workiva Amplify annual conference.

McCord was named chief accountant for the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance in August 2020 after serving as acting chief accountant in the division. She played a critical role in leading the agency’s work to monitor disclosures by companies impacted by coronavirus and provide targeted regulatory relief and guidance. Previously, she served as deputy chief accountant in the division leading a team to provide technical guidance and interpretations of financial statements and related disclosure requirements. As the division’s chief accountant, McCord leads the efforts to make disclosure and financial reporting more effective and relevant for investors and issuers.
Attendees will learn about the SEC’s priorities and the ongoing challenges of financial reporting and disclosure in the current environment. Ms. McCord will share candid insights about the disclosure review process and her guidance to practitioners who submit periodic filings to the Commission. Additionally, Ms. McCord will answer questions submitted by SEC Pro Group members.
