ISACA Welcomes Past Board Chair Chris Dimitriadis as First Chief Global Strategy Officer

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Long-time ISACA member, volunteer and past board chair Chris Dimitriadis has stepped into a new ISACA leadership role as the first chief global strategy officer at the global tech association and learning organization.

In his role, Dimitriadis will lead efforts to continuously align ISACA’s strategy with the changing needs of its members, chapters and industries around the world. As part of this, he will implement new strategic initiatives at a global level incorporating fields such as cybersecurity, assurance, privacy, risk and technology governance towards creating value out of digital trust. Additionally, Dimitriadis will drive forward a multi-year plan for expanding ISACA’s impact around the world, focusing on the needs of each region and the 188 countries in which ISACA is present.

“Digital trust is a key enabler of the world economy, as emerging technologies proliferate faster than ever, towards value creation for organizations and individuals,” said Dimitriadis. “I am honored to join ISACA in this new role and to work with our global community, as ISACA is shaping the future of the professions that we serve.”

Dimitriadis started his career in cybersecurity more than 20 years ago, and most recently served as Group CEO at INTRALOT, a global gaming solutions supplier and operator, following roles as Group Chief Services and Delivery Officer, Group Director of Technology Operations, and Group Director of Information Security. He has a Ph.D. in information security, a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and holds ISACA’s CISA, CRISC and CISM certifications, as well as six global awards. Dimitriadis also served as a member of the Permanent Stakeholders Group (PSG) of the European Cybersecurity Agency (ENISA) from 2012 to 2015.

Dimitriadis, who began his journey with ISACA in 2003 after being encouraged to obtain the CISA certification, served on the ISACA board of directors for 10 years, including as board chair from 2015-2017. He has volunteered on several ISACA committees and working groups over the years. Additionally, Dimitriadis received ISACA’s 2014 Presidents Award and 2013 John W. Lainhart IV Common Body of Knowledge Award.

“Chris’s valuable blend of expertise, leadership, and institutional knowledge, along with his passion for ISACA’s mission and the community we serve around the world, makes him uniquely positioned to drive ISACA and our global professional community forward,” said David Samuelson, ISACA CEO. “I look forward to his contributions in engaging in meaningful ways with our community members, shaping and driving ISACA strategy, and growing our organization’s impact and global relevance.”

Dimitriadis joins other senior leaders at ISACA who have joined the association in the last two years, including a new chief membership officer, chief product officer, chief technology officer and chief financial officer after Samuelson’s arrival as CEO.
