TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Following a successful August 11 press conference to global audiences, Taiwan Excellence announced the official launch of its “Sharing is Caring, Taiwan Excellence” global charity campaign. This program, which provides social innovators and changemakers a platform to execute their ideas, will officially open its call for proposals on September 1, 2021. Individuals, NGOs, and social organizations worldwide are welcome to show their creativity and ingenuity and actively submit proposals that can make a difference!
“Sharing is Caring, Taiwan Excellence” is the first global cross-year, large-scale, corporate social responsibility (CSR) charity event organized by Taiwan Excellence, an awards program celebrating and promoting top Taiwanese companies and products around the world, created by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). The themes for this event are Social Concerns, Environmental Protection and Corporate Governance.
The goal is to recruit global citizens from the global village to develop creative initiatives focused on innovative solutions for their home countries in order to aid their local environments and communities utilizing Taiwan Excellence products and services. The top three winning proposals from all the global entries will be selected to receive a bonus of $10,000 USD and an execution stipend of $150,000 USD each.
“For every individual, non-profit, social organization, and NGO in every corner of the world; for every dream and aspiration you ever had to better your community, ‘Sharing is Caring, Taiwan Excellence’ was created for you,” said Mark Wu, executive director, strategic marketing department, TAITRA. “Even in the midst of crisis, like the current pandemic, humanity finds ways to make our world a better place, and Taiwan Excellence is committed to helping you effect positive change.”
It takes only one idea or person to spark a movement and make a difference in their community locally or globally. The well-known Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, concerned with climate change from a young age, grew and spread her activism from an essay competition in her local newspaper. As more people and activists took note of her ideas and actions, many worldwide embraced her ideals to face the issue of climate change head-on. Another example is Ms. Chen Shu-chu from Taitung, Taiwan, whose proceeds from selling vegetables helped build schools and libraries in her community. Taiwan Excellence believes that there are more Gretas and Shu-chus in our global village who can spark the changes needed in their communities and the world!
