NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hydrogen Health, an expert in digital-first healthcare solutions, announced today that Brad Kirkpatrick has joined the company as Chief Commercial Officer. Hydrogen’s mission is to close the care gap plaguing the U.S healthcare system by simplifying access to primary care, including chronic, acute, and preventative care. Kirkpatrick, formerly Chief Client Officer at Anthem, will focus on driving expansion with existing partners, acquiring new employer and insurance partners, and collaborating on solutions that will drive value for both employers and health plans.
"Primary care is the cornerstone to improving health and healthcare costs, yet 30-50% of the self-insured employer population has no primary care relationship. Employers want better, digital-first access for employees,” said Kirkpatrick. “It is a corporate imperative to adopt new models for healthcare, and Hydrogen is uniquely positioned to offer the best technology, medical talent, and expertise to introduce much-needed change.”
With over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Kirkpatrick has held senior leadership roles at both startups and publicly traded companies. Most recently, as Anthem’s Chief Client Officer, he led a team responsible for 300 national account clients and 4 million members. Before that, as Chief Client Officer of WebMD, he led sales and account management for the Health Services subsidiary during their $2.8 billion acquisition by Internet Brands.
“We are excited to welcome Brad to the Hydrogen Health team to lead our commercial efforts and accelerate Hydrogen’s vision to democratize access to quality healthcare,” said Ran Shaul, co-founder and chief product officer of both K Health and Hydrogen. “Hydrogen’s revolutionary, tech-enabled approach is going to change the horizon of healthcare by improving services and driving down costs.”
Hydrogen brings K Health, a virtual primary care company with over 5 million users, to employers and insurers. K Health is disrupting the traditional care model with a full-suite data-driven primary care solution, with hundreds of clinicians available 24/7. For employees and members, K Health provides a trusted in-network provider for convenient, highly personalized care. For employers and insurers, Hydrogen is bending the curve on cost, enabling access to true data-driven, value-based care through a unique utilization and engagement-based pricing model. Hydrogen is already integrated with select health plans and available for millions of covered lives.
Kirkpatrick joins a talented team of executives, bringing together innovators and industry leaders from both the healthcare and technology sectors, including CEO/Co-Founder Allon Bloch (who holds the same roles at K Health; previously CEO of Vroom, Wix), and Chief Technology Officer Plamen Petrov, Ph.D. (Anthem, IBM). Petrov, who also recently joined Hydrogen, is an authority on Artificial Intelligence, natural language processing and cognitive computing.
