athenahealth Announces That It Will Not Attend HIMSS21 Conference

WATERTOWN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--athenahealth, a leading provider of network-enabled software and services for medical groups and health systems nationwide, today announced it has made the decision not to attend the 2021 HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition from August 9-13, 2021, in Las Vegas due to the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in Nevada and growing concerns regarding the Delta variant. athenahealth will continue to participate in the conference virtually.

As a leading player in the healthcare industry, and in light of the evolving COVID-19 situation, athenahealth felt it was prudent to re-evaluate its participation in the event. In an effort to protect the safety of its employees and the broader public, athenahealth concluded that attending the conference in-person presented an avoidable risk.
