Save Jane was initially started by the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center in 2019 to raise awareness about child abuse in Dallas. Realizing the importance of this cause, the Denver Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) is hosting its inaugural Save Jane event.
During the event, which is open to the public, volunteers will read the names and ages of more than 11,000 children who were reported as abused in Denver County in 2020. Because these children are minors and their identities must be protected, “Jane Doe” and “John Doe” will be used in place of their names reminding our community that there are real children and stories behind each name.
These companies and organizations have joined DCAC to sponsor Save Jane: Focus Management Group, Denver7, FTI Consulting, IntelePeer, SM Energy, 5280 Magazine, Street Media, In-N-Out Burger, RingCentral and Denver Community Credit Union.
DCAC is asking the community – and those that represent the community – to join in reading these names and supporting those who have suffered through child abuse in their lives. To participate in reading at Save Jane, click here. |

About Denver Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC)
DCAC was founded in 1995 after over 300 professionals in Denver came together to report that child victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence were “falling through the cracks” in a system that was supposed to help them. Our programs fall along a three-part continuum of care that includes Community Outreach, Rapid Response, and Treatment and Integrated Services. We strive to meet the needs of all traumatized children, as well as those at risk of abuse.
