EAGAN, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SPEC MIX, LLC®, a QUIKRETE Company®, is finalizing preparations for the world’s largest and most prestigious masonry competition, the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500®. This action-packed bricklaying battle will happen on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 at the World of Concrete expo in Las Vegas, NV. With Covid-19 restrictions lifting across the country, the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 is anchoring the first large event to be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in over a year.
The grueling competition is designed to identify the best bricklayer in the world based upon who can lay the most brick, with the least amount of deductions in one hour. Regional qualifications were held across North America to determine who earned the opportunity to compete for over $125,000 in cash and prizes in Las Vegas. This year marks the 19th anniversary of the event, with the regional events live stream capturing over a million views, making the competition more popular than ever.
With 15 exciting regional series competitions held across North America, the final gameday roster gave way to arguably the most talented field in the event’s 19-year history. The returning World Champion, Fred Campbell, and returning SPEC MIX TOP CRAFTSMAN®, Darian Douthit, will join fifteen regional series winners and four wild card qualifiers to compete for over $125,000 in cash and prizes (including a new Ford F-250 4x4 Truck, Kubota RTV-X1140) and the title, “World’s Best Bricklayer.”
