PITTSFORD, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Harris Beach PLLC has named Partner H. Todd Bullard as co-chair of the Harris Beach Council on Inclusion and Diversity, a working group of partners, attorneys and professional staff that advises the firm on creating a more equitable workplace, profession and society.
Todd leads the Harris Beach Diversity Compliance Practice Group, which provides business and government entities with compliance advice related to New York state and federal law and applicable municipal minority- and women-owned business enterprise requirements. Todd works with minority- and women-owned businesses on obtaining their New York state MWBE certifications, and counsels government contractors and local governments on MWBE compliance and procurement issues.
Todd has a legacy of service to the greater Rochester community. As a former elected official, he served in the Monroe County Legislature and was the leader of the Democratic caucus during his tenure. Todd has also served as a board member of USNY Bank, a community bank based in Geneva, New York; and on the boards of organizations such as the Urban League of Rochester, Action for a Better Community and Legal Aid Society.
In 2020, Todd was named by City & State New York magazine to its Responsible 100 List of the state’s most outstanding corporate citizens. In 2019, Lawyers of Color named Todd as one of the nation’s best attorneys for his noteworthy accomplishments and commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. He is also the recipient of the 2019 Pioneer Award from the Rochester Black Bar Association.
Todd is one of the original members of the Harris Beach Council on Inclusion and Diversity, founded in 2005.
He serves as co-chair with Harris Beach Chief Administrative Officer Kimberly A. Swetland. Kim works with the leadership of Harris Beach on the continued growth of the firm by facilitating the recruitment and integration of lateral attorneys and mergers. She also oversees operations of Harris Beach’s regional offices.
Todd is also a member of the Harris Beach Business and Commercial Litigation and Public Finance and Economic Development practice groups, as well as the firm’s Municipalities and Local Agencies Industry Team.
