PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CloudLinux, Inc., the company behind the successful CloudLinux operating system widely used in the hosting community and a sponsor of the open source AlmaLinux OS, announces TuxCare as an umbrella offering of the company’s family of enterprise support services. Packaging together KernelCare, Extended Lifecycle Support and current version Linux Support makes it easier for customers to get full coverage protection.
TuxCare’s Live Patching Services, formerly KernelCare, offers live patching for critical components in the Linux stack, from the kernel all the way to widely-used shared libraries like glibc and openssl. This eliminates the need for lengthy and costly service disruptions while servers or services are restarted to install the latest security patches, and no longer requires a disruptive maintenance window.
With TuxCare’s Linux Support Services, regular patches and updates are delivered for all components of enterprise Linux systems, as well as 24/7 incident support - even when systems are past their End-of-Life (EOL). Whatever the reason may be to run systems past their EOL, TuxCare can ensure they remain secure and up-to-date with security patches.
TuxCare components fully integrate with existing management and monitoring systems already in use in the enterprise, like Nessus or Qualys, and are easily deployable through standard deployment mechanisms like Ansible, Puppet or Chef. Integrating with familiar tools facilitates work of system administrators and improves productivity. Also, enabling greater flexibility in choosing Linux distributions can help significantly reduce maintenance costs by eliminating the need for costly vendor-specific extended support offerings, while enhancing security and compliance of new and existing systems.
“Building out a larger brand to house our rapidly-expanding set of services makes it easier for our customers and prospects to see everything we provide in one place,” said Jim Jackson, president and chief revenue officer of CloudLinux. “Under the new TuxCare umbrella customers can review and select everything they need from our cohesive collection of services to take care of their Linux infrastructure.”
Future support for other enterprise relevant software -- like database and virtualization stack live patching -- will be integrated into the TuxCare brand, with the same level of ease-of-use that CloudLinux is known for delivering.
