Re:Build Manufacturing Accelerates Onshoring with the Acquisition of Cutting Dynamics, Inc.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--()--Re:Build Manufacturing is pleased to announce the acquisition of Cutting Dynamics, Inc. (Avon, OH), significantly expanding Re:Build’s product and service offering as part of the Re:Build Advanced Materials Group.

Cutting Dynamics Inc. (CDI) is an AS9100 certified manufacturing business that brings over 35 years of experience in design, engineering and production of metallic and thermoplastic composite structures and assemblies, with a strong emphasis on the aerospace, defense and industrial markets; CDI’s capabilities are a strong complement to the other Re:Build Advanced Materials Group product and service offerings, which already include high-rate thermoplastic composite components (https://www.oribicomposites.com/) and advanced thermoset structures and assemblies (http://composite-resources.com/). The convergence of these brands brings a unique mix of product and service offerings in fabricated structures together with a highly customer-centric culture and organization.

“We are truly excited to be a part of Re:Build Manufacturing. It is an incredible opportunity to become part of an organization focused on creating and sustaining manufacturing jobs in North America. Working with the other Re:Build businesses will be a great opportunity for us to grow CDI in our current markets, but also to support the broader group as we build out new and expanded capabilities in other segments,” said Bill Carson, CDI President and CEO, who will remain with the business, and will also be supporting strategic growth initiatives for the Re:Build group.

“Our goal at Re:Build Manufacturing is to invest in the growth of manufacturing businesses in North America, and to help our country re-establish the ability to compete in this critically important part of the economy,” said Miles Arnone, CEO of Re:Build Manufacturing. “With CDI, we now have a unique and well-developed array of manufacturing processes and services to support our core markets, and we have a platform to build out additional capabilities in support of other Re:Build theses, including Re:Build Total Production Solutions and Re:Build Engineering.”

“With CDI, we now offer design, engineering and fabrication of a wide range of structural materials and components, not limited just to composites,” said Steven Mead, President of Re:Build Advanced Materials Group. “This supports our ‘right material, right application’ theme, and also provides a platform to bring some of our more disruptive technologies to targeted market segments.”
