Fast Growing Fintech Company doxo Recognized as One of the Best Places to Work in Seattle by Comparably

SEATTLE--()--doxo, the innovative web and mobile bill pay service, today announced it was recognized as one of Comparably’s 2021 Best Places to Work in Seattle. The award represents the highest-ranked companies for overall workplace environment, from employees who anonymously rated their experiences on Comparably.com.

“We’re honored that doxo has been recognized as one of Seattle’s best places to work, especially in such a highly competitive market for tech talent. This award is a testament to the entire doxo team and the strong community and culture we’ve created, even through the challenges of working remotely,” said Steve Shivers, co-founder and CEO of doxo. “Our passion for collaboration and innovation have enabled us to further our mission of financial health and transparency, and we’re excited to continue building on this momentum.”

Comparably, a compensation, culture and career monitoring website, compiled its rankings from anonymous sentiment ratings provided by employees. The rankings are determined based on a series of questions that span 20 core culture categories, including work-life balance, the leadership and team, and overall workplace environment, to get a comprehensive view of what it is like to work for the company.

“Our Best Places to Work in Seattle highlights the top-rated companies in the region, according to employee feedback in multiple core culture metrics,” said Comparably CEO Jason Nazar. “Outstanding businesses like doxo have maintained exceptional workplace cultures despite the challenges of the past year due to the pandemic.”

Many US households struggle to stay on top of bills, and the pandemic has made that even more challenging. doxo’s core value has proven to be very timely — the app simplifies the task of staying on top of bills and helps improve financial health. As people shifted more bill payments online and to mobile over the past year, the company experienced rapid growth, expanding both its user base and the number of billers on the doxo network. Currently, doxo serves over four million paying users who can make payments to over 75,000 local and national businesses, making the company the largest bill pay directory in the country.

doxo also expanded its doxoINSIGHTS program, which provides a transparent look into household financial health and spending activity, breaking down what Americans pay for their monthly bills across over 90% of zip codes and 45 service categories. The reports, which found that the average U.S. household spends $22,668 per year on bills, break out the household spending market size for each bill category, percentage of households that pay each bill, and average monthly and annual bill pay costs by state. The company also examined how Americans used their $1400 stimulus check, finding that 62% of that money was paid towards household bills.

doxo is one of the most sought-after fintech companies to work for in the Seattle area, having also recently earned designation in Built In Seattle’s list of the Best Places to Work for 2021. Over the past year, doxo grew its team by 50% to 65 full time employees. The company expects to exceed this growth rate with its aggressive hiring plans across multiple functions for 2021.
