CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SurePoint Technologies, the leading cloud provider of practice management solutions to law firms, announced today the appointment of Laurence Winters, to serve on the Association of Legal Administrator’s (ALA) Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Committee (DEIA Committee).
In his current position as Vice President of Relationship Management and Community at SurePoint, Winters is responsible for ensuring that customers maximize the value of the software and their partnership with SurePoint. He also leads the strategy and management of the company’s 30 regional user groups and is the executive sponsor of the annual user conference and client advisory board.
“The resources and education the DEIA Committee offers ALA members and business partners are directly related to the hard work of our committee members,” said Ellen R. Clinton, Incoming Chair (2021-2022), ALA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Committee. “We are grateful Laurence responded to ALA’s call for volunteers and that he wants to join our efforts in creating a more diverse and inclusive legal industry.”
The ALA provides support to professionals involved in the management of law firms, corporate legal departments, and government legal agencies. Their goal is to increase diversity and inclusion in the association, in the legal management community, and all legal service organizations. To that end, the mission of the DEIA Committee is to provide each ALA member with the tools and resources required to be a leader in meeting the association’s goal. The committee works to educate legal industry leaders about why diversity is important and how to bring diversity and inclusion to the legal workplace.
“It’s a true honor to have this wonderful opportunity and be appointed to this position,” said Winters. “I look forward to working with the ALA team to promote a cause that is dear to my heart. Now more than ever, it is important that we focus on coming together and doing what’s right for all of humanity. I am excited to help promote change so that we can all do better.”

“We are thrilled for Laurence to serve on the DEIA Committee,” said Tom Obermaier, Chief Executive Officer of SurePoint. “This is a real accomplishment and a statement of his professionalism, dedication, strength of character, and commitment to causes of good. We know that Laurence’s focus on bringing diversity and inclusion within the legal community will make a significant impact on the efforts of the ALA.”
