WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The rapid rise of telehealth services during the COVID-19 pandemic propelled virtual care delivery into the mainstream as an accepted care modality among clinicians and patients. In response to this shift, Wolters Kluwer, Health announced today the release of Lippincott® TelemedInsights, an authoritative resource to support healthcare providers in successfully transitioning patient consultations to a sustainable and compliant virtual approach.
“We have heard from healthcare providers that they are committed to incorporating telehealth as a core part of their operations moving forward, but there is a need for new advisory tools to ensure a successful transition. Specifically, they are looking for guidance on how to manage the technology infrastructure for telehealth, comply with rapidly evolving reimbursement guidelines, and retrain clinicians to conduct a wide array of patient consults without direct face-to-face contact,” said Vikram Savkar, Vice President and General Manager, Medicine Markets of Health Learning, Research & Practice, Wolters Kluwer. “Through our collaboration with clinical experts from George Washington University and integration of regulatory resources from MediRegs, we are able to equip clinicians with continually updated, easily digestible information addressing the key challenges and risks they face in their telehealth transformation.”
Lippincott TelemedInsights includes three modules:
- Clinical Training, developed in collaboration with clinicians from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and School of Nursing, provides self-paced videos and articles that help clinicians optimize patient outcomes in a virtual setting across a range of conditions
- Regulatory Guidance, developed in collaboration with MediRegs from Wolters Kluwer, provides continually updated information on how to comply with the ever-changing regulatory guidelines set by Medicare and Medicaid for telehealth
- Technology Strategy advises on a range of pressing technology matters including cybersecurity and patient privacy
“For many clinicians, virtual patient visits during the pandemic were their first experiences using telehealth to deliver care and for already overwhelmed institutions, creating and implementing telemedicine training is no easy feat,” said Reamer Bushardt, PharmD, PA-C, DFAAPA, professor and senior associate dean in the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and a primary care provider. “We are proud to work with Wolters Kluwer to take the lift off of hospitals and practices by creating content that allows clinicians to quickly feel comfortable and confident in providing team-based, person-centered care to patients virtually.”
Lippincott TelemedInsights is available for healthcare providers as well as medical and health professions schools with curricula in telehealth. For more information, visit Lippincott TelemedInsights.
