NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) and Impact Education, LLC (IMPACT) are proud to announce a new initiative: the Value-Based Chronic Disease Collaborative (VBCDC). VBCDC brings payers together with advocacy organizations that represent high-cost disease populations, along with respective expert providers, to facilitate an open dialogue and to generate shared solutions. This proactive and collaborative approach allows for the development of strategies that are appropriately tailored to the unique characteristics of each patient population.
This initiative commenced with a two-part virtual inaugural meeting attended by more than 50 representatives from national patient advocacy organizations as well as various health care payer and purchaser organizations. Multiple patient advocacy groups and payer organizations have committed to being founding members following the initial meetings.
VBCDC was created based off of the success of NHF’s Comprehensive Care Sustainability Collaborative (CCSC) program, which was established in partnership with IMPACT and focuses on payer related topics in the bleeding disorder space.
“Data and analytics have the potential to transform the approach for managing high-cost claimants, and therefore it is critical that payers and providers come together to generate insights,” according to Michelle Rice, Chief External Affairs Officer with NHF. “In doing so, health care stakeholders can better identify the members for which they can have the greatest impact through quality-driven, value-based solutions.”
“More than a dozen patient advocacy and payer organizations have committed to participate in VBCDC as founding members,” explains Steven Casebeer, Executive Vice President and Managing Director with IMPACT. “These organizations will be actively involved in 2021 activities that include additional meetings to develop member tools, resources, and outreach messaging.”
