Southwestern Health Resources Hires Donghui Wu as VP of Data Science and Analytics Officer

Wu will develop leading predictive analytics that set national standards to transform population health

DALLAS--()--Southwestern Health Resources (SWHR), the clinically integrated network of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Texas Health Resources, has welcomed Donghui Wu, MBA, PhD, as Vice President of Data Science and Analytics Officer. Wu was previously with Texas Health for two years, infusing machine learning and artificial intelligence in all aspects of the hospital system’s transformation. He now joins SWHR, the nation’s leading Next Generation Accountable Care Organization, to guide data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Wu is a results-driven, hands-on leader and data scientist with more than 20 years of industry and academic research experience. He specializes in population health management, healthcare risk prediction and business decision support systems. In his new role, Wu will support SWHR's goal of becoming a more cutting-edge, data-driven healthcare organization, ensuring that data is insightful and actionable for effective population health management.

In partnership with Coffey, Wu will ensure effective alignment of data science and analytics to meet the organization’s needs.

Prior to serving at Texas Health, Wu led a team of data scientists at Parkland Center for Clinical Innovations (PCCI) as the Vice President of Technology and has been in leadership roles at organizations including Blue Health Intelligence, the analytics affiliate of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association; Knowledgent; and LexisNexis Risk Solutions. Wu also has served on various committees with the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

Wu graduated from Nanjing University in China, earned a master’s degree and doctorate in applied mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received an MBA from the University of Florida.
