LOS ANGELES--()--Lamps Plus, one of the most renowned lighting companies in the United States, announced today it has entered into an agreement to exclusively sell lighting fixtures under the Stiffel brand, one of the country’s most celebrated lamp companies since the 1930s.

The new Stiffel lighting fixture collection, featuring chandeliers, ceiling lights, pendants and wall lights, is now available from both LampsPlus.com and Lamps Plus stores throughout the western United States.

Lamps Plus has also made the Stiffel designs a cornerstone of the recently launched LP Luxury Lighting microsite within LampsPlus.com. LP Luxury Lighting helps shoppers easily focus on highly popular, luxury lighting style products.

“Stiffel is a brand with a great history. The lamps are truly unique and considered works of art,” said Lamps Plus Founder and CEO Dennis Swanson. “For decades, consumers have considered them one of the finest investments for their home, and vintage models have become valuable, highly sought after treasures.”

“I’ve admired Stiffel for decades and we pursued the opportunity for Lamps Plus to offer exquisite Stiffel light fixtures because the brand is synonymous with unmatched luxury and glamour. We accept the opportunity to sell Stiffel light fixtures as a great honor and will hold ourselves to the brand’s high standards and storied history,” Swanson said.

Lamps Plus and Stiffel are launching their Stiffel lighting fixture collection with an initial assortment of almost 70 fixtures, including chandeliers, ceiling lights, bath-bar wall lights and sconces, with more designs to be added in the coming months.

Each Stiffel lighting fixture is designed in the United States by a lighting design team with a total combined experience of over 100 years. The fixtures draw upon the history of the Stiffel line and maintain the essence of the historic and frequently considered timeless Stiffel design.

Stiffel was founded by Ted Stiffel, a craftsman with a background in fine arts, in Chicago in 1932, and was focused for decades on lamps and portable lighting, particularly brass lamp designs. Following the 2013 acquisition of the brand by Cutting Edge, Stiffel now has a manufacturing facility in Linden, N.J., with a focus on original designs and contemporary styles.

All Stiffel fixtures are of high quality craftsmanship and display the grandeur and luxurious finish that forged Stiffel’s brand for generations.

“For over 50 years, Americans chose Stiffel brass lamps for their homes because of their high quality and sophisticated look, making these lamps solid, long-term investments,” Swanson said. “I’ve always had a high brand affinity for Stiffel and see our Stiffel branded fixtures as exemplary of the brand’s heritage. Our Stiffel fixtures are meant to be statement pieces in every room, much like vintage Stiffel lamps have been for decades. We’ve focused on the exemplary detailing, quality materials and luxury in every Stiffel fixture we offer now and will continue to offer in the future.”

Vintage Stiffel table lamps are highly sought by collectors and designers at antique stores and sites like 1stdibs, Poshmark, Chairish, eBay and Etsy. To determine authenticity, enthusiasts know to look for the Stiffel foil signature decal on the bottom of the base or for a small foil decal in the lamp shade.

Stiffel’s contributions to the lamp industry include the invention of the Stiffel Switch, the pole lamp and various achievements in lamp design. Before Stiffel, table lamps were primarily seen as functional rather than offering a design aesthetic. Stiffel was among the first to showcase aesthetics as being integral to great table and floor lamp designs.

Stiffel lamp owners through the years can now add additional Stiffel luxury to their homes with these lighting fixtures.

Lamps Plus and Stiffel have achieved success in lighting over multiple generations. Lamps Plus is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year while Stiffel will mark 90 years next year.
