INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Atlanta-based Chicken Salad Chick, the nation’s only Southern inspired, fast-casual chicken salad restaurant concept, today announced plans to open four new company-owned restaurants in the Indianapolis area over the course of the next year – joining its first Indiana location in the Jeffersonville, which opened in June 2020. The expansion in the region highlights Chicken Salad Chick’s natural evolution across the Midwest, with Indianapolis’ first restaurant slated to open on West 86th at Michigan in the Pyramid Place Shopping Center on March 9. Three additional Indianapolis-area locations are planned to open this year in swift succession in Fishers, Glendale and Greenwood communities.
Under the leadership of CEO Scott Deviney, at the helm since 2015, the company now has 179 restaurants currently open in 17 states and remains a standout brand within the fast casual sector. Chicken Salad Chick was recently placed in the top 10 for 2020 in Franchise Times' Fast & Serious. The popular, craveable concept was established in 2008 by founder Stacy Brown.
“Our team is always on the hunt for vibrant communities that connect with the Chicken Salad Chick experience and our mission – to spread joy, enrich lives and serve others,” said Chicken Salad Chick President and CEO Scott Deviney. “We’ve had our eye on Indianapolis for some time and are excited to bring a dose of our Southern hospitality and fan-favorite chicken salad into a number of new communities. The opening of not one, but four stores in a single year, is a genuine example of our heartfelt commitment to the market.”
Chicken Salad Chick brings a Southern twist to fresh, made-from-scratch fare with over a dozen flavors of chicken salad, each with a real-life namesake. Indianapolis residents and visitors will be able to choose from a menu featuring everything from traditional to savory, fruity and spicy flavors made in-house with fresh ingredients every day. Other menu items include fresh side salads, gourmet soups, signature sandwiches and delicious desserts.
The brand will hire more than 200 local employees across all four locations. Marc Burnikel, Judi Williams, Donita Coleman and Joshua Hagert were named district manager, general manager and assistant managers for the Indianapolis market respectively.
“Finding the right real estate at the right time is a feat in and of itself, so we are in a special position to be able to confirm all four upcoming restaurants as we enter the market,” said Chicken Salad Chick Chief Development Officer Terry McKee. “We’ve been scouting the greater Indianapolis market for several years, and we are pleased that our local research and real estate efforts have culminated in this announcement.”
In anticipation, Indianapolis residents can download the brand’s loyalty app – CravingsCredit. Program members earn one point for every dollar spent at Chicken Salad Chick restaurants and can redeem amazing rewards like complimentary food items, special discounts and gear.
