DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Baceline Group (formerly Baceline Investments), a boutique private real estate investment and management company with neighborhood shopping center holdings throughout the United States, has announced the acquisition of two properties: Farmington Square in Raleigh, N.C., and Ahwatukee Commons in Phoenix. Baceline’s Core Income Fund now totals 69 properties, making it the largest and most diverse fund in the history of the firm.
Baceline currently has more than $380 million in assets under management in the core income portfolio spanning 15 states. It includes 2.5 million-square-feet of retail space with nearly 900 local and national tenants.
Farmington Square is a 24,870-square-foot property and part of a thriving community center with national and local tenants. Ahwatukee Commons is a 18,640-SF shopping center with convenient access to the I-10 Freeway in an affluent Phoenix area.
Despite a challenging 2020 in the retail sector due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Baceline Group continued to grow its overall portfolio and also saw an increase in tenants since March.
“We had a record-setting year in 2019, but 2020 turned out to be much more rewarding,” said Brian Capstick, president of Baceline Group. “Because of our diverse tenant base and the necessity of the types of businesses in our centers, our tenants were resilient during the height of the pandemic closures and restrictions. During 2020, we focused on supporting our small business owners through strategic and innovative approaches that ultimately showed the stability of necessity based, neighborhood shopping centers.”
Baceline's real estate investment strategy focuses on neighborhood shopping centers in markets throughout the United States that offer more value-rich quality real estate at opportunistic prices, and less competition, when compared to gateway cities.
