NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lamberti, a dynamic young winery located in the Veneto region, announced the launch of its newest innovation, Prosecco DOC Rosé. In May, the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies’ National Wine Committee amended the rules to produce Prosecco DOC, which includes Prosecco DOC Rosé with unanimous approval. Lamberti is one of 85 pioneering wineries to launch a Prosecco Rosé DOC.
For 11 years straight the sparkling wine category has been growing, reaching an estimated 21.4 million cases in 2018, dominantly Italian Prosecco which represents about 8.6 Million cases. These numbers reveal that sparkling wine consumption has really become an everyday occasion in the consumer’s mind.
“The ruling from the ministry was timely. We have been seeing demand steadily grow for the last 10 plus years, even with COVID-19, so we think there is a huge opportunity. We are also enthusiast as the timing of the launch of the Prosecco DOC Rosé falls at the same time as the release of the new modern label. It is a new day for the Lamberti brand,” said Amanda Paul-Garnier, Director of Marketing for the brand.
Lamberti’s Prosecco DOC Rosé will be the first of the brand’s wines to debut the new modern look. The updated design is bolder and brighter. The typeface and label are larger, making the brand easier to recognize. The clear bottle is paired with a light salmon pink label with a marbleized border, a minor detail that makes the simple design unique.
The new Prosecco DOC Rosé is a blend of the Glera grape 85% and Pinot Noir 15%. The grapes undergo soft pressing to obtain the juice that is then fermented to get the base wine. This is followed by a second fermentation and then filtration after which the bottle of wine is ready. On the nose, the wine imparts white peach, citrus and strawberry. On the palate, it has a fruity and floral finish. Lamberti Prosecco DOC Rosé is a versatile wine to enjoy on any gathering or celebration. Lamberti Prosecco DOC Rosé, 750ml bottles will be available at retailers nationwide in April 2021. The suggested retail price is $14.99.
