WellNow Urgent Care Acquires Hometown Urgent Care & Occupational Health

CHICAGO--()--WellNow Urgent Care℠, one of the country’s fastest-growing urgent care providers, announced today that it has acquired Hometown Urgent Care & Occupational Health, one of the largest fully-equipped urgent care and occupational health centers in the Midwest with 34 locations in Ohio and Michigan. The acquisition, which comes amid continued growth of the urgent care industry, nearly doubles WellNow’s footprint, making it one of the top 10 urgent care providers in the U.S.

Urgent care centers are an increasingly important part of the U.S. healthcare marketplace, providing patients with much-needed access to quality care with shorter wait times and lower costs than the traditional emergency room. Collectively, WellNow and Hometown have cared for nearly 1.5 million patients in the past year.

Both WellNow and Hometown share a commitment to delivering best-in-class patient experiences, with a people-centric culture focused on helping patients get back to their lives, faster,” said John Radford, M.D., founder and president of WellNow Urgent Care. “Together, our goal is to have an even greater impact on the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.”

Like WellNow Urgent Care, Hometown provides timely treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses while also providing on-site X-rays, lab testing and physicals. In addition to a full suite of urgent care services, Hometown has built strong occupational medicine and telehealth services, and also conducts clinical research at three of its locations.

Hometown’s president and CEO, Manoj Kumar, joins WellNow’s leadership team as the SVP, Ancillary Services and Innovation, where he will oversee and develop future service lines.

Delivering compassionate and accessible patient-first care to our communities is our biggest priority,” said Manoj Kumar, president and CEO of Hometown Urgent Care. “I was impressed by WellNow’s mission, community impact, and exceptional staff. The company’s exponential growth is a testament to their high standards of patient care and service, and I look forward to continuing that journey together with Dr. Radford and the entire team.”

In the coming weeks, WellNow is working to bring rapid COVID-19 testing to all of Hometown’s locations, as well as the ability for patients to check in online and book an appointment for added convenience.
