ZMC Announces Promotion of Sheila Dharmarajan to Partner

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ZMC (“ZMC” or the “Firm”), a leading middle market private equity firm focused on investments in the media, communications and technology sectors, is pleased to announce the promotion of Sheila Dharmarajan to Partner.

Ms. Dharmarajan joined ZMC in 2014 and holds a unique role, leading the investor relations, fundraising and business development functions at the Firm. Most recently, she led the fundraising efforts for ZMC III which closed in November 2019. The $775 million fund, which was substantially oversubscribed by both existing and new institutional investors, invests in technology-enabled media and communications enterprises.

Prior to joining ZMC, Ms. Dharmarajan was an on-air television reporter for CNBC and Bloomberg Television, where she regularly reported on a wide range of business news and breaking stories. She has also served as the host of “The Future Is Now”, a Yahoo! web series focused on innovation and cutting-edge technologies.

In addition, Ms. Dharmarajan has an extensive background in private equity and finance. She was an investment professional at Permira and Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, where she focused on analyzing and executing investments across a range of industries including healthcare, consumer / retail and information services. Ms. Dharmarajan began her career as an investment banking analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and was an associate director in the mergers & acquisitions group at IAC/InterActiveCorp.

Ms. Dharmarajan holds BS in Finance & Management from the Wharton School at the University Of Pennsylvania. Ms. Dharmarajan also earned her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is currently President of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Alumni Board and alumnae of The David Rockefeller Fellows Program sponsored by the Partnership of NYC.
