SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CI Security®, a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services provider specializing in protecting the networks of critical infrastructure, including cities, counties, and school districts, today announced the company has been awarded the 1GPA (1Government Procurement Alliance) Contract as of November 19, 2020, listed under the Cybersecurity Products and Services category and contract number 21-02PV-01.
1GPA is a national non-profit governmental purchasing cooperative which allows public entities to take advantage of 1GPA’s contracts to purchase the goods and services they need from local and national vendors. All of 1GPA Contracts are approved and awarded by 1GPA’s lead governmental entities and are available for use and benefit of all entities complying with their own state procurement laws and regulations.
With this new contract, it is now easier for state/local government and K-12/higher education 1GPA Members to purchase CI Security’s services while staying in compliance with procurement rules since 1GPA completed the competitive bidding process necessary for public entities. With CI’s Critical Insight Security Program, organizations can evolve their security postures to better protect and defend their networks.
“We are pleased to announce that CI Security has been awarded the 1GPA contract to provide the Critical Insight Security Program to entities such as school districts,” said Garrett Silver, CEO at CI Security. “Schools and municipalities have faced an unprecedented year. Helping them with protection and defense is core to our mission. We’re honored to be part of a contract that makes purchasing more efficient for the organizations that need it most.”
An educational institution reports a cyber incident every 3 days in the United States. Protective controls are not enough to prevent cybersecurity incidents at schools, which can lead to identity theft, destruction of school records and property, school closures, and more. While education IT teams are understaffed, overextended, and alert-fatigued, threat actors are getting inside education networks and causing harm to students, staff, faculty, and parents.
CI Security is already assisting municipalities and school districts in their battle against attacks including ransomware, phishing, and credential misuse.
“With news coming out weekly of breaches at school districts, colleges, universities, cities, counties, we wanted to provide a specific cyber security contract for our 1GPA Members. CI Security brings us a Gartner-recognized Managed Detection and Response offering,” said Christy Knorr, the Vice President of 1GPA. “We hope our members take advantage of this contract to improve security quickly.”
1GPA members can use the contract to purchase:
- Managed Detection and Response for On-Prem, AWS, Azure, and O365 environments
- Managed Detection and Response for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Security Risk Assessments
- Continuous Vulnerability Identification
- Penetration Testing
- Incident Preparedness
- Incident Response
- vCISO engagements
