SHIJIAZHUANG CITY, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On November 23 local time, the news conference for launching of Lianhua Qingwen Capsules, a Chinese traditional medicine produced by Yiling Pharmaceutical, was held online. It signifies that Lianhua Qingwen has officially come into the Philippine market for sale, providing the nation with a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) solution for respiratory diseases including COVID-19, cold and flu.

Olivia Limpe Aw, the Philippine agent of Lianhua Qingwen Capsules and chairman of Philippine Islands International Trading Corporation, announced in the news conference that the outbreak of COVID-19 has shown people the unique advantages of TCM, as the first traditional Chinese medicine that has obtained approval in the Philippines, its launch will help Filipinos a lot. “People always say ‘it’s better late than never’, TCM is safe and effective and with low price. In the news conference, Dr. Wei Cong, president of TCM Branch of Hebei Yiling Pharmaceutical Research Institute, gave a themed lecture named “From SARS to COVID-19 -- The path of Yiling Pharmaceutical using TCM to fight against epidemics”, in which she explained the effect of Lianhua Qingwen Capsules on previous respiratory infectious diseases such as SARS, H1N1 flu, MERS.

Dr. Philip Tan Gatue, TCM expert from the Philippines, also gave a lecture focused on topics such as TCM theory, formula mechanism, and ancient famous prescriptions. “It can help us adapt TCM to modern use, preventing and treating new diseases by understanding the mechanism of ancient Chinese medicine formulas.
