NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Noodle Partners, the nation’s fastest growing online higher education network, will shift to become “Noodle,” effective immediately.
Noodle is now the brand name of the network of successful EdTech companies with more than 220 employees, founded by John Katzman, which includes Noodle.com — a highly trafficked site to help prospective students find and learn about degree programs — and formerly Noodle Partners, a modern online program manager that creates excellent online and agile programs with elite universities and colleges.
Noodle Partners (now Noodle) has built more than 50 online degree programs with top tier colleges and universities such as University of Michigan, Howard University, American University, University of Tennessee, the University of Washington and Tufts University.
The name change signifies a differentiation in how Noodle defines itself in the context of the OPM industry. Rather than just launch and manage programs, Noodle also acts as a network hub of technology, information, services and resources for prospective students looking for graduate programs. The move reflects Katzman’s priorities of agility, accessibility and affordability with the overall goal of lowering the costs of higher education while increasing the quality.
According to HolonIQ’s research, Noodle has partnered with as many elite U.S. universities as all other competitors combined, since January 2019. Currently, half a million prospective students visit Noodle.com each month, to read articles related to their grad school queries, speak with expert counselors, and learn about great programs. By aligning the two companies under one roof, leaders can find and deploy efficiencies towards the common mission of reducing costs by streamlining prospective students to the programs Noodle manages.
“Noodle.com offers soon-to-be students a surprisingly novel service in today's fast paced, tech-saturated student admissions world. Prospective students who don’t know where to start can get on the phone with an expert in that field and find the best path for their career goals. They leave feeling more confident and excited about their future,” Noodle CEO John Katzman said. “We're equally committed to helping our partner schools find these students at a lower average cost than the usual advertising channels. This is how we use the network to lower the cost of higher education.”
Noodle activates its network of universities, higher education leaders, providers and students to fuel innovation, imagination and efficiency in learning design, marketing, student recruitment, technology, student and faculty support and clinical placement. The network’s mandate is two-fold: transparency and the transformation of the U.S. higher ed landscape into a collaborative universe.
“Our goal with this decision is to better align all the assets owned by the Noodle Inc. umbrella. It creates more power and leverage for our network, which translates to better results for our university partners,” Noodle President Keri Hoyt said.
In June 2020, Noodle Partners, now Noodle, raised $16M in a Series B round led by ValueAct Spring Fund and joined by Lumina Foundation and existing investors. Recently the company announced a partnership with Strategic Education Initiative (SEI) to provide employers with access to a variety of educational and upskilling programs from the nation’s top universities and provide full administration of employee educational benefits.
The company headquarters remain at 860 Broadway, New York, NY 10003. Today, employees work remotely in 36 states, the District of Columbia and overseas.
