FULTON, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DataTribe, a startup foundry that invests in and co-builds next-generation cybersecurity and data science companies, today announced that John Funge, currently Chief Product Officer (CPO) at DataTribe, will be promoted to Managing Director. As Managing Director, John will lead DataTribe as it moves forward and continues to help founders build dominant startups.

Funge has been working alongside the DataTribe executive team, serving as the CPO, where he supports portfolio companies and participates in the selection of new investments. Funge is a Board Member for three of DataTribe’s portfolio companies: BlackCloak, The CyberWire, and Inertial Sense.

Prior to joining DataTribe, John co-founded and built three successful technology firms, all of which were acquired by larger companies. John started his career as a software engineer and has worked in roles ranging from sales to product management. His diverse experience spans markets including cybersecurity, data analytics, digital media, healthcare, and telecommunications.
