BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Strata Identity, the distributed multi-cloud identity company, today announced it has joined the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA).
Strata was nominated for membership for its integration with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) authentication and access control to on-premises applications that are tightly integrated with legacy identity systems such as CA SiteMinder or Oracle Access Manager. The Strata Maverics Identity Orchestrator enables organizations to transition applications to Azure AD with no user experience changes and no burden on application teams. Strata extends policies and identities to enforce consistent access across hybrid cloud environments.
The Microsoft Intelligent Security Association began as an ecosystem of independent software vendors that integrated their security products with Microsoft’s to better defend against a world of increasing threats. Due to increased demand for a closely interwoven security ecosystem, the association is growing and recently launched an invitation-only pilot program for select managed security service providers.
“Enterprises adopting hybrid and multi-cloud strategies struggle with consistently managing identities and access policies across different clouds, and with the vendor lock-in associated with unifying fragmented and legacy on-premises identity management systems,” said Eric Olden, CEO of Strata Identity. “Strata extends Azure Active Directory to protect on-premises applications by enforcing consistent access policies, keeping identities in sync and making it simple to transition applications to the cloud and from legacy identity systems to standards-based authentication and access control provided by Azure AD - all without rewriting applications saving millions of dollars in manual integration and custom coding.”
“Microsoft has been on a mission to eliminate passwords and help people protect their corporate identities,” said Alex Simons, Corporate Vice President of Program Management, Microsoft Identity Division. “We are pleased to see companies like Strata support that goal by integrating their solutions through the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association.”
Strata’s Identity Fabric and Maverics Identity Orchestrator deliver a unique distributed identity management architecture that allows enterprises to seamlessly transition on-premises applications to use Azure AD. This helps customers break the decades-old lock-in that has prevented a broader transition of enterprise workloads to public cloud infrastructure such as Azure. The combined power of Strata and Azure AD makes it easy for customers to future-proof the way apps consume identity and strengthen the authentication and access control process.
Maverics Identity Orchestrator is available in the Azure Marketplace.

About Strata Identity
Strata is pioneering the concept of identity orchestration for distributed, multi-cloud identity. The Strata Identity Fabric enables enterprises to seamlessly unify on-premises and cloud based authentication and access systems for consistent identity management in multi-cloud environments. Strata’s distributed approach to identity enables organizations to break decades-old lock-in that has prevented a broader transition of enterprise workloads to public cloud infrastructures. The company’s founders co-authored the SAML open standard for identity interoperability, created the first cloud identity services, delivered the first open-source identity products, and are now building the first distributed identity platform.
