NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Board of Directors of The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI) names Patsy S. Doerr as Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Doerr will be responsible for leading the membership association that serves and supports 290 independent Junior League organizations in four countries representing more than 125,000 women civic leaders. Her role will be effective on October 19, 2020.
“The Board of Directors sought an accomplished, transformative executive to lead the organization through this critically important time, and we are confident in Doerr’s ability to deliver on our ambitious goals and vision for the future,” said AJLI President and Search Committee Chair Bett Williams. “Doerr’s experience in leading diversity, equity and inclusion work for global organizations, along with her skills in talent/learning management and organizational development, will be key factors in supporting our continued success.”
Doerr was most recently the global head of Diversity and Inclusion at Credit Suisse and prior to that was responsible for Thomson Reuters’ corporate social responsibility, diversity and inclusion and sustainability functions. She was also a brand ambassador for Thomson Reuters, speaking frequently on social impact issues. Doerr has more than 20 years of experience in talent management, organizational development, diversity and inclusion, employee recognition and customer engagement, primarily in investment banking. She has held leadership roles at JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse in New York, London, and Hong Kong.

Doerr has a passion for women’s issues and gender equity. She is a board member of Women’s World Banking, the Jackie Robinson Foundation, and All in Together. Doerr previously sat on the Boards of Trustees for the Samburu Girls Foundation, the Responsible Investment Association of Canada, Marymount School of New York (where she also was President of the Alumni Association), and Dominican Academy High School for Girls. She is a member of the Leadership Committee for the YMCA and previously, Out Leadership, the 30% Coalition Committee and the Business Advisory Board for PFLAG. Doerr is also a past member of the Junior League of New York and of the Junior League of London.
In recent years, Doerr was awarded with the Tri-State Diversity Council’s Most Powerful & Influential Woman Award, as well as the Promoting Workforce Diversity & Gender Equality Award for the Banking, Financial and Insurance sector by City State Reports.
Doerr has a BS in Biology from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia and a MS in Adult Learning and Organizational Development from Fordham University in New York, NY.
