David Spitz Joins Susquehanna Growth Equity as a Senior Advisor

BALA CYNWYD, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Susquehanna Growth Equity (“SGE”) today announced that David Spitz has joined Susquehanna’s Portfolio Value Creation team as a Senior Advisor. In this role, David will mentor and support SGE portfolio company leadership teams while helping SGE extend relationships with entrepreneurs in the Carolinas and beyond.

David is the CEO of ChannelAdvisor (NYSE: ECOM), an e-commerce cloud platform that for nearly two decades has helped brands and retailers worldwide improve their online performance by expanding sales channels, connecting with consumers, optimizing their operations for peak performance, and providing actionable analytics to improve competitiveness.

During his time at ChannelAdvisor, David has overseen the growth of the firm’s annual revenues from $11 million to more than $130 million. Prior to ChannelAdvisor, David founded and successfully exited multiple venture-backed software companies.

“David’s background in the e-commerce space coupled with his expertise in building and scaling technology companies will provide unique value to our team at SGE and our portfolio companies,” said David Badler, Head of Portfolio Value Creation. “I’m also excited that we both share a love of food and less than exceptional athletic abilities.”

“I am thrilled to advise the SGE team and SGE’s portfolio companies. As an operator and entrepreneur, I find SGE’s model of patient, focused, and entrepreneur-centric capital unique and very appealing. The entrepreneurial ecosystem across the Carolinas is strong and growing, and I am excited about the opportunity to work with Susquehanna on identifying new investment opportunities in the region and beyond,” said David Spitz.

David is currently an Advisor to Bull City Venture Partners and on the Board of Directors of Beazer Homes (NYSE: BZH) and closely-held digital marketing firm AdWerx, as well as an active member of NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors). Earlier in his career, David founded and sold two software companies, was an Entrepreneur in Residence for Aurora Funds, served as Foundation Board Director & Chair of the North Carolina School of Mathematics, Board Member & Chairman of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), and was awarded four U.S. patents. In 2010, David was recognized as Triangle Business Journal’s CFO of the Year and in 2008 received the publication’s Top 40 Under 40 Award.

When not pursuing his professional interests, David enjoys fly fishing and spending time with his wife and six children.

Susquehanna has invested in more than 55 growth-stage companies throughout the firm’s 14-year history. The firm prides itself on its ability to provide founders and management teams with capital without a predetermined exit timeline and expertise to help accelerate their growth journeys.
