SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JustAir, Inc., a spinout of Theranova, LLC, a biomedical device manufacturing company, today launches its patented JustAir Advanced Face Mask System (U.S. Patent 7597101), the only powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) that filters inhaled air as well as exhaled air, protecting users and those around them.
The system uses positive pressure airflow principles to create a “clean room” type of environment around the user’s nose and mouth, providing fresh, filtered air while pushing away the contaminated air. Inhaled air is filtered by medical-grade HEPA filters designed to trap 99.97% of viruses, bacteria, dust, smoke, and allergens as small as 0.3 microns – a higher filtration level than N95 material, which blocks 95% of particulate matter. A carbon pre-filter reduces odors, another common complaint of mask-wearing. Finally, the mask’s electrostatic filter and multiple cloth layers filter exhaled air with a 99.9% viral efficiency, ensuring those around the user are also protected.

At an introductory price of $249 on myjustair.com, the JustAir face mask system is by far the most affordable powered air-purifying respirator on the market, which are typically priced upwards of $1,000 per unit.
The company expects that dentists and other health care professionals in private practice will be among the product’s earliest adopters, as well as those who travel by air and other public transportation.
