Slate Grocery REIT Announces Completion of Name Change from Slate Retail REIT

TORONTO--()--Slate Grocery REIT (TSX: SGR.U) (TSX: SGR.UN) (the “REIT”), an owner and operator of U.S. grocery-anchored real estate, announced today the completion of its previously announced name change from Slate Retail REIT.

Slate Grocery REIT stands alone as the only 100% grocery-anchored business in the REIT sector and our name now reflects that differentiation,” said David Dunn, Chief Executive Officer of the REIT. “We own the critical real estate infrastructure that communities continue to rely upon for their daily needs. Although our name has changed, our strategy has remained the same and will continue to be centered around investing in high quality, grocery-anchored assets in major markets across the United States.”

The REIT’s units are expected to begin trading under its new name and ticker symbols “SGR.U” and “SGR.UN”, quoted in U.S. and Canadian dollars, respectively, on the Toronto Stock Exchange at the opening of trading on August 21, 2020. The REIT’s new website can be accessed by visiting slategroceryreit.com. The previous website, slateretailreit.com, will redirect visitors to the new website effective immediately. No action is needed from current unitholders in relation to the name or ticker symbol changes.
