DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Healthgrades, the leading resource that connects consumers, physicians and health systems, today announced the Healthgrades 2020 Women's Care Award recipients. The Healthgrades 2020 Obstetrics and Gynecology Excellence Award™, the Healthgrades 2020 Labor and Delivery Excellence Award™, and the Healthgrades 2020 Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award™ recognize 162 hospitals around the nation, 74 of which received two or more awards, that provide superior care for women during labor and delivery and gynecologic procedures. This analysis includes patient outcome data for all patients (all-payer data) made available in 16 states from 2016 through 2018.*
In conjunction with the release of the Healthgrades 2020 Women’s Care Awards, Healthgrades published “Women’s Care: Leading Voices from the Front Lines,” a series of short stories and interviews from hospitals around the country that highlights both the successes and challenges providers are facing during COVID-19 and how they are working to keep women and their families safe. Doctors and nurses also shared their experiences working with female patients and share their dedication to providing the highest quality care.
“The healthcare experience in this country has changed significantly over the past few months, and the hospitals that have achieved a Healthgrades 2020 Women’s Care Award go above and beyond to provide the best care possible for women. We commend all of the organizations that have had to create new protocols, adapt and evolve to keep women and their newborn babies safe amidst COVID-19,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Healthgrades.
