Fast-Growing Health Care Service to Provide At-Home COVID-19 Testing and Medical Care for D.C. Residents

Ready is reshaping the health care landscape in D.C. by bringing care directly to patients

WASHINGTON--()--On-demand health care service Ready is bringing COVID-19 testing, symptom monitoring and non-emergent medical care directly to residents of Washington, D.C., in the convenience of their own home or residence. Ready’s Responders have backgrounds as trained EMTs, paramedics and nurses and travel directly to patients, offering a fast, effective and safe health care alternative.

During the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, Ready is expanding to improve health outcomes and increase the health and safety of District residents, particularly in the hardest hit and most underserved areas, by offering them basic medical care and COVID-19 testing in their home. By bringing non-emergent health services to residents, Ready helps to avoid often expensive and unnecessary emergency room visits and less convenient outpatient clinics and doctor’s offices and reduces the likelihood of infectious exposure. Responders on-scene are supported by doctors and advanced practice providers using telehealth for immediate diagnoses and treatment capabilities. Ready is helping broaden the opportunities for treatment across all eight Wards and delivering quality medical care directly to residents in the East end of the city.

Bringing medical care to D.C. residents is a significant step forward not only as we deal with the pandemic, but also in making health care more accessible for the future,” said Justin Dangel, CEO and Co-Founder of Ready. “Our goal is to keep the residents of D.C. safe and healthy, and we’re committed to bringing health care to people when and where they need it.”

Ready is prepared to treat a full range of non-emergent medical issues including cold and flu symptoms; ear, nose and throat problems, as well as skin and gastrointestinal issues. Ready is also providing at-home non-emergent care and COVID-19 tests in three counties in Maryland and other locations around the country including southeastern Louisiana, Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada, and more recently Los Angeles and New York City. The Company is expanding its services to major urban centers in Florida, Pennsylvania and Texas in the near future.

Ready, which recently secured $48 million in Series B financing led by Deerfield Management Company and GV, is working under the guidance of the CDC, the World Health Organization (WHO) and local public health authorities to continue updating its protocols to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Responders have received COVID-19 specific training and are equipped with the appropriate protective gear (including gowns, N95 masks, goggles and gloves). The company has partnered with leading health plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.*
