CIRI Announces Nathalie Megann as New Board Chair and Elects New Directors

TORONTO--()--The Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI), Canada’s national association representing investor relations professionals, announces the election of Nathalie Megann, CPIR, ICD.D as Chair of the CIRI Board of Directors for a two-year term. Ms. Megann is Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs at Chorus Aviation Inc. She succeeds Denis Jasmin who will remain on the Board as Past Chair.

Ms. Megann is an executive with more than 25 years’ experience in the Airline and Aviation Industry. She has worked in operations, corporate management and has served as an advisor to the Board of Directors, working closely with the CEO and the C-suite to manage a $2 billion company in a highly competitive and volatile industry. She has experience in mergers, acquisitions, bankruptcy protection, restructuring, initial public offerings, corporate arbitration, and corporate affairs. In her current role, Ms. Megann is directly accountable for investor relations; corporate communications; and public and government affairs. She is a Certified Professional in Investor Relations (CPIR) and a Certified Corporate Director (ICD.D).

CIRI members also elected Greg Blazina, Head of Canada, Business Wire; David S. Frost, Partner, McCarthy Tétrault LLP and Lisa Greatrix, Senior Vice President, Finance & Investor Relations Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited.

Mr. Blazina is the Head of Canada for Business Wire where he is responsible for overall sales, marketing and operations for Business Wire in Canada. He joined Business Wire as an Account Executive in 2011, became Manager of Eastern Canada in 2013 and was promoted to Manager for all of Canada in April 2017. Based in Toronto, Mr. Blazina has worked directly with investor relations officers, ensuring issuers are correctly meeting disclosure requirements, streamlining and enhancing their disclosure processes, advising on the ever-changing vendor landscape and aiding companies in reaching targeted investors worldwide. Mr. Blazina became an executive of CIRI Ontario in 2018 and has been a CIRI member since 2014.

Mr. Frost is a partner in the Vancouver office of the law firm McCarthy Tétrault LLP where he practices in the areas of corporate/commercial law, securities and corporate finance with a focus on financings, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. He regularly advises private and public issuers on cross-border, U.S. and domestic public and private offerings of equity and debt, including initial public offerings, bought deal financings and secondary offerings. Mr. Frost also advises public companies on general securities law matters, including continuous disclosure obligations and other regulatory compliance issues. He regularly acts for Canadian, U.S. and international acquirers and targets on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions and take-over bids. Mr. Frost has been a member of CIRI since 2004 and he is currently a member of the CIRI Editorial Board and writes the Securities Regulation and IR column for IR leader.

Ms. Greatrix is the Senior Vice President of Finance & Investor Relations at Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited. She is a seasoned finance executive with extensive experience in managing diverse groups and initiatives in multiple disciplines including finance, customer support and operations. In her current role, Ms. Greatrix and her team directly support CTC’s Board of Directors, CFO and CEO. She oversees investor relations strategies and programs and also manages relationships with the investor and analyst communities. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has been a CIRI member since 2013.

Monica Hamm, Client Success Specialist, TMX Group Limited; Carol Hansell, Founding Partner, Hansell LLP; and Meghan MacNicol, Vice President, Corporate Access, Toronto-Dominion Bank are retiring from the Board. All of these individuals have dedicated their time volunteering for the organization and have made a tremendous contribution.
