BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In compliance with local reopening guidelines, IPIC Theaters, LLC., will begin reopening its 14 theaters and 7 restaurants. Our Texas locations will be the first to reopen with Fairview and Houston reopening June 4th and Austin reopening June 11th.
The temporary closure of IPIC Theaters and its affiliated restaurant brands, City Perch, Tanzy and The Tuck Room, is a result of the unprecedented global impact of COVID-19. During the temporary closure, IPIC’s team has worked diligently to identify and adapt to the new environment in order to safely re-open its doors. While the experience guests have come accustomed to may look a little different, it will be done in a way to minimize intrusiveness and improve the overall experience to meet new CDC guidelines.

In addition, we’ve acquired new technologies to help maintain the health of everyone in our cinemas and restaurants.”
The technologies mentioned by IPIC Theater’s CEO are the Centurion T165K EBT Thermal Scanner and Evaclean Electrostatic Sprayer. Guests, team members and vendors will be guided through thermal readers to identify elevated body temperature upon entering the building. “This will allow for us to quickly identify and address temperature abnormalities for individuals walking into IPIC Theaters,” said Safran. Centurion’s president, Wing Lee adds, “Advanced technology thermal scanners allow both valued patrons and team members to maintain minimum social distancing standards as set by the CDC while taking instant readings.” Additionally, Evaclean Electrostatic Sprayer, a touchless disinfectant that reaches 4x greater surface area compared to traditional cleaning, will provide supplemental sanitization nightly and during days of the week IPIC is closed to the public. Additional temporary modifications to IPIC Theaters, City Perch, Tanzy and The Tuck Room experience includes:
- Pausing the blanket and pillow program in-theater
- Requiring team members to wear protective masks and gloves and encouraging guests to wear masks in common areas
- Enhanced sanitization protocols throughout the day, between showtimes and close of business using EPA approved disinfectant products
- Addition of a staff position dedicated to sanitation of all common areas during business hours
- Limiting theater operations to the public to Thursday through Sunday to allow for additional extensive cleaning
- Ensuring proper social distancing between parties in the theaters and restaurants
- Minimizing guest interactions with our Servers and Ninjas, while maintaining our service-level quality
- Addition of plexiglass at Guest Services and Express Counters
Upon reopening, IPIC Theaters will initially offer classic films and guest favorites at a special ticket price. “We look forward to continue delivering our guests’ favorite premium cinematic and dining experience again very soon,” said Safran.
