National Philanthropic Trust Names Suzanne Yoon Chair of the Board of Trustees

Yoon has been a member of the donor-advised fund sponsor’s board since 2014

JENKINTOWN, Pa.--()--National Philanthropic Trust (NPT), the largest national independent donor-advised fund (DAF) sponsor and one of the top grantmaking institutions in the U.S., is pleased to announce Suzanne Yoon has been named Chair of NPT’s Board of Trustees. Yoon, founder and managing partner of Kinzie Capital Partners in Chicago, has held a seat on NPT’s board since 2014.

About Suzanne Yoon

Yoon is the Founder and Managing Partner of Kinzie Capital Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm investing in lower middle market companies in consumer, manufacturing and service industries. Yoon launched Kinzie as part of a long-standing vision to better help unlock value for companies by advancing the use of technology, data analytics and innovation to improve operational efficiency and create new avenues for growth.

Yoon has more than 20 years of experience in investing in and advising middle market companies. Prior to Kinzie, Yoon was a Managing Director of Versa Capital Management, where she led transaction development throughout North America. Yoon also served as a Senior Vice President of CIT Group, co-founded LaSalle Bank/ABN AMRO's Corporate Restructuring Group and held positions in distressed loan portfolio management and advisory at LaSalle Bank and Ernst and Young's Corporate Finance group, respectively.

Yoon believes in diversity of experiences and puts this belief into action through active engagement with the business and civic community. She serves on several private company boards and, in addition to her chairmanship at NPT, her civic board service includes The Council of Korean Americans (CKA), where she co-chairs the Finance Committee, and Board of HFS Chicago Scholars, an organization that serves economically disadvantaged Chicago inner-city high school students. She also serves on the Steering Committees of the Private Equity’s Women Investor Network (PEWIN) and Women’s Association of Venture and Equity (WAVE), and is a member of the Association of Asian American Investment Managers and the Economic Club of Chicago.

Yoon received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Iowa and is an Executive Scholar of Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
