JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Ferber Company, a privately held real estate development and investment company headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., will join forces with big name restaurants such as Margaritaville and Chili’s as well as small restaurant owners; Bronx House Pizza to serve meals to frontline medical staff, public service workers and families in need across the state of Florida in the coming weeks. The company has already partnered with several of the restaurant tenants to deliver over 1,000 meals in Key West, Ormond, Daytona Beach, and Jacksonville. As many companies are coming together to do what they can during the COVID-19 crisis, Ferber landed upon a unique giving strategy for everyone involved.
“We recognize our friends in the restaurant industry are struggling right now and the need for us to support them is great. I’m proud of our internal team who coordinated a collection which The Ferber Company is matching,” Company President, Shields Ferber, said the effort will stretch from Key West to Northeast Florida over the next 30 days.
Ferber donations, totaling over $10,000, will be spent purchasing food from tenant restaurants, allowing them to prepare and deliver meals to area hospitals as well as local police and fire departments.
In Key West, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, with the help of The Old Kress Building partnership have teamed up with Ferber to help families in need with free meals each Thursday from 12 to 1 p.m. General Manager of Margaritaville, Mike Griswold, states that his company’s guiding principles foster a shared responsibility for the well-being of their staff, guests, and community. “We are excited for this partnership which allows us to provide free meals to those impacted by the pandemic.”
The Ferber Company says the team coordinating the meal delivery project has had positive feedback from restauranteurs and hospitals such as AdventHealth. “These smaller communities appreciate it and our tenants are happy to be a part of this effort, delivering to the folks who are on the frontlines,” says Ferber.
