Rite Aid to Open Additional COVID-19 On-Site Testing Locations in Coming Weeks

Self-Swab Drive Through Tests to be Available at Several Rite Aid Stores in Seven States Through Partnership with White House Coronavirus Task Force

CAMP HILL, Pa.--()--Today, Rite Aid (NYSE: RAD) announced plans to expand COVID-19 testing sites as part of its partnership with the White House Coronavirus Task Force.

In addition to the current testing site in Philadelphia, Rite Aid has added a new location, at a Rite Aid store located at 2604 Linglestown Road in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In coordination with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the company expects to have additional drive-up COVID-19 testing locations open soon at Rite Aid stores in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan, Connecticut and Virginia.

All Rite Aid drive-up COVID-19 testing locations will utilize self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists. An online platform will triage people based on guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which can be found here. The Harrisburg testing site will be open for testing 9 a.m.-5 p.m. seven days a week and expects to be able to conduct approximately 200 tests each day.

The testing will take place in the store’s parking lot. As part of the testing process, people must pre-register online and remain in their vehicles from the time they arrive and until they depart.

“Rite Aid is pleased to build on the success of our pilot site in Philadelphia with a new COVID-19 testing location in Harrisburg. We plan to have additional testing sites at stores across seven states in the coming weeks,” said Heyward Donigan, President and CEO, Rite Aid. “Through our partnership with the White House Coronavirus Task Force, and with tremendous support from state and local officials, we will significantly expand COVID-19 testing to more than 5,000 tests daily in our country’s key hot spots when fully operational. We are incredibly proud of the outstanding work and commitment of all our Rite Aid associates both in our stores and at the testing sites who are providing an important and critical service to the communities we serve.”

Testing will be available at no cost to eligible individuals who meet criteria established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Patients are required to provide government issued identification, be at least 18 years old and need to pre-register online at www.riteaid.com in order to schedule a time slot for testing.

Rite Aid will provide regular updates on the company’s progress with COVID-19 testing.
