Announcing Great Place to Work’s 2020 List of the Best Workplaces in Texas
OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global workplace culture authority Great Place to Work® just published its 4th annual ranking of the Best Workplaces in Texas. The companies winning a spot on this year’s list include employers based in Texas, as well as national and international companies that have a significant number of employees in the state who have scored their employer highly on Great Place to Work’s Trust Index© survey.
This year’s ranking includes 50 large companies with more than 1000 employees, alongside 30 small and medium companies with 999 employees or less. Many of the larger companies also were named to Fortune’s 2020 list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For last month.
“Texas is one of the most diverse states in the U.S., taking into account factors such as race and ethnicity,” said Michael C. Bush, the CEO of Great Place to Work. “The organizations on Great Place to Work’s Best Workplaces in Texas list stand out from the crowd because they embrace all of their people. These companies provide workplaces where people with a broad range of backgrounds can contribute to the success and innovation of organizations who rank among the best in the nation.”
To determine the Best Workplaces in Texas, Great Place to Work analyzed anonymous survey feedback from nearly 55,000 employees in Texas.
Employees responded to more than 60 survey questions describing the extent to which their organization creates a Great Place to Work For All™. Eighty-five percent of the evaluation is based on what employees say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential as part of their organization, no matter who they are or what they do. Great Place to Work analyzes these experiences relative to each organization’s size, workforce make up, and what’s typical in their industry and in Texas. The remaining 15 percent of the rank is based on an assessment of all employees’ daily experiences of innovation, the company’s values, and the effectiveness of their leaders, to ensure they’re consistently experienced.
To be considered, companies had to meet the Great Place to Work-Certified standard. To ensure companies had enough presence in Texas, at least 5 percent of the survey respondents at large companies and at least 20 percent and a minimum of 10 percent of the survey respondents in small and medium companies needed to reside in Texas. Companies with 10 to 999 people were considered for the small and medium category; companies with 1,000 employees or more were considered for the large category.
