Thomasnet.com® Surpasses 1 Million Registered Users

Millennial Managers, fastest-growing user segment

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Thomas, the leader in product sourcing, supplier selection, and marketing solutions for industry, announces Thomasnet.com has surpassed 1 million active registered users. Professionals from SMBs, Mid-Market, and Fortune 1000 companies in aerospace, medical, automotive, energy, agriculture, oil & gas, transportation, telecommunications, and more leverage this platform to find products and supply chain partners. The millennial generation is the fastest-growing segment of registered users on Thomasnet.com comprising more than 48%. Every two seconds these industrial buyers, engineers, and MROs source new suppliers and products from 70,000 categories containing 500,000 North American manufacturers and 7.8M product listings - and growing.

Thomas has experienced registered user growth of more than 450% over the last three years by myopically focusing on the users’ needs. In a 2017 research study, Thomas identified more than 200 stages in the industrial purchasing and supplier selection process. All Thomasnet.com platform updates have been designed, tested, and deployed to support procurement managers, engineers, and MROs in each phase of their “jobs to be done.” In doing this, Thomas has become the first stop in the industrial buying process.

"We're thrilled to see powerful industrial buyers use Thomasnet.com as an essential platform in their daily work. Over the last few years, based on ongoing testing and research, we've added a range of new features and functionality that has enhanced the user-experience and accelerated this growth in active registered users. Early next month Thomasnet.com 5.0 will launch with additional features and tools for both industrial buyers and suppliers that we anticipate will continue to grow user engagement and registration," said Tony Uphoff, president and CEO of Thomas.

Last week, Thomas released the Thomas Registered badge, to help users identify suppliers that have been validated by the Thomas Supplier Analyst team and have been activated to receive inquiries sent via the platform Request for Quote & Contact tools. This is the beginning of a series of releases that Thomas has planned to provide additional verification information, video content, user collaboration tools, sourcing dashboards, and data to support the 1.6M engineers and 503,000 procurement professionals in the U.S. that fuel the $2.4 trillion U.S. manufacturing industry.
