Spok Features the Power of Standards-Based Interoperability at HIMSS20

Spok Go® solves challenges facing healthcare systems through innovation

SPRINGFIELD, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Spok, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Spok Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPOK) and a global leader in healthcare communications, is reinforcing its commitment to advancing interoperability for hospitals and health systems at HIMSS20. Spok will demonstrate the power of standards-based interoperability with its new, integrated cloud-native communication platform, Spok Go®, at HIMSS booth #2579 and at the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase™ booth #8300 in hall E, March 9-13, in Orlando, Florida.

“Interoperability is key to increasing patient safety as well as reducing costs for health systems,” said Vincent D. Kelly, president and chief executive officer of Spok Holdings, Inc. “We understand how important interoperability is, and we are committed to leading the way through innovation in order to enhance how our customers deliver care through our powerful clinical communication platform, Spok Go.” Kelly added that, “Spok’s interoperability with EHRs and other clinical applications solves multiple problems facing healthcare systems today.”

HIMSS Interoperability Showcase, the highest trafficked area of the conference exhibit floor, is where technology leaders uncover innovative solutions that enable seamless, secure, interoperable health information exchange through standards and improve individual and population health around the globe. Spok has taken on key roles in the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase for more than 10 years, expanding its reach each year as a leader in integrated critical-care communication solutions. Spok will participate in multiple use cases throughout the week, including The Quiet Hospital and Unlocking Analytics across the Care Continuum demonstrations.

“Spok has been focused on interoperability for years, but this year we have more of a focus on alleviating alarm fatigue,” said John Lalonde, Chief Technology Officer. “The ability for a communication solution to allow caregivers to remotely diminish the sounds from devices such as infusion pumps and monitors all while making alarm notifications more efficient will appeal to many hospitals and health care systems throughout the United States.”
