HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jeff Flocken, a values-based leader with more than a three-decade track record in healthcare strategy, operations and business development, has been appointed to the board of directors of Beacon Healthcare Systems. Beacon is home to the healthcare industry’s leading compliance and risk management technologies.

Flocken brings to Beacon a distinguished 35-year career in healthcare spanning a variety of organizational settings, including serving for five years as senior vice president of the western region for Tenet Healthcare. There, he held responsibility for 12 acute care hospitals, six ambulatory surgery centers and nine diagnostic imaging centers and oversaw the region’s implementation and monitoring of Tenet’s corporate ethics, integrity and compliance programs.
Immediately prior, Flocken served in multiple executive capacities for the St. Joseph Health System including serving as senior vice president and chief operating officer for the 14 hospitals and ambulatory care clinics in California, Texas and New Mexico. He began his career with UniHealth America, where over an 18-year career he rose to serve as chief executive officer of the nonprofit system’s flagship hospital, Northridge Hospital Medical Center, and vice president of the system’s medical centers division.
Flocken holds a master’s degree in public health and hospital administration from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from California State University, Northridge. He is a life fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a fellow in the National Association of Corporate Directors. Flocken also holds an NACD certificate in cybersecurity from the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and a graduate certificate in healthcare ethics from Creighton University.
Active throughout his career on many professional and community service boards, Flocken is a past member of the Blue Cross of California provider advisory board, the Alliance of Catholic Health Care board of directors and the California Healthcare Association board of directors. He has also served on the board of directors of Verity Health System, St. Joseph Health Ministry, Creighton University Medical Center, USC University Medical Center, Covenant Health System and Facey Medical Foundation.
