Carnegie Learning Announces the Divestiture of Paradigm Education Solutions

Company narrows its focus to deliver the highest quality learning experiences for K-12 educators and students

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Carnegie Learning, a dynamic, progressive learning technology company, announced today that it has reached an agreement to sell Paradigm Education Solutions, a post-secondary provider of print and digital learning solutions, to Kendall Hunt Publishing Company, a provider of educational products and services focused on the higher education market.

In 2018, Carnegie Learning merged with New Mountain Learning, which included EMC School, a provider of blended learning resources and services for 6-12 world languages and English language arts, and Paradigm Education Solutions. Today’s divestiture announcement is consistent with Carnegie Learning’s goal of becoming an organization focused solely on supporting our nation’s primary and secondary teachers and educating K-12 students across the country.

“We continue to refine our focus on the K-12 market so we can best serve the needs of teachers and students everywhere,” says Barry Malkin, CEO. “Kendall Hunt Publishing is the perfect new home for Paradigm Education Solutions to continue making an impact in higher education.”

Carnegie Learning continues to focus on its growth objective by creating products and services that support teachers in managing their classrooms effectively and increase learning outcomes for students at all skill levels. The company, born from powerful research and technology from Carnegie Mellon University, is committed to being the leader in using cognitive science research, artificial intelligence, and proven pedagogical approaches to support teachers in the classroom and personalize learning for every student. Previously a provider of math-only products and services, Carnegie Learning now offers solutions and professional learning for literacy, English language arts, world languages, computer science, and applied learning.
