ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) announced today that it has acquired a majority interest in nuTravel, the leading developer of applications that provide airlines with online retailing solutions with enhanced features to support travel agency services. nuTravel will be an independent subsidiary of ARC, sustaining its focus on innovation and delivery excellence for airlines serving corporate travelers.
The acquisition will enable ARC to accelerate its offerings of feature-rich, omnichannel retailing solutions to airlines, travel agencies and corporate travelers to provide an integrated customer experience. ARC’s nuTravel investment continues to expand the suite of solutions for the end-to-end air travel journey, by combining its expertise with those of Blockskye and Traxo, in which ARC also recently invested.
“ARC is on a fast track to help airlines and travel managers provide their travelers the streamlined, simple and consistent shopping experience they expect, regardless of their purchasing method,” said ARC President and CEO Mike Premo. “nuTravel’s innovative technology and solutions are a perfect complement to those from Traxo and Blockskye, bringing ARC’s omnichannel strategic vision to life. We look forward to working closely in partnership with all three companies and our customers in the coming years.”
nuTravel Co-Founder, President and CEO Carmine Carpanzano commented, “nuTravel has been at the forefront of corporate online retailing for airlines since 2012. ARC’s investment in our company and partnership — coupled with the strength and talents of our team — will accelerate our research and development, product innovations and continued enhancement of our software. The nuTravel team is excited to partner with ARC to offer airlines flexible retailing solutions that support their distribution strategies and to help further ARC’s strategic goals.”
Joining current nuTravel Board Chairman Carmine Carpanzano and Vice Chairman Michael Materasso is Dave Hilfman, airline industry icon and former senior vice president of worldwide sales at United Airlines.
“I am very excited to be named to the board of such a pioneering technology company,” said Hilfman. “There is tremendous power in the combination of nuTravel’s leading technology platform with ARC’s settlement, data and emerging airline retailing solution suite. The robust technical capabilities of the nuTravel team, coupled with the diverse experience and expertise of the board will help sustain the company’s vision of becoming a major technology player. I look forward to working with nuTravel as we begin another new decade of successes.”
Also joining the nuTravel board are ARC’s COO and CEO-designate Lauri Reishus and ARC CIO Dickie Oliver.
