SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--First Republic Bank (NYSE:FRC), a leading private bank and wealth management company, today announced the addition of a six-member team of wealth managers to First Republic Investment Management in South Florida.
Salvatore A. Tiano, John Emery Smyth, Louis J. Ventura, and Daniel Tumba were each named Managing Director and Wealth Manager. Jason O’Brien and Gregory P. Saville were named Vice President and Wealth Manager.
Based in Jupiter, Florida, the team will provide investment management, retirement planning, investment consulting and other wealth management services to individuals, families, nonprofits and private family foundations.

Tiano has more than 30 years of wealth management experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Securities. He began his career at Drexel Burnham and works with clients to provide comprehensive financial planning to families, businesses and entrepreneurs. Tiano is on the Board of Trustees of Jupiter Medical Center and serves on the boards of Maltz Jupiter Theatre and The Benjamin School. He also serves on the Planned Giving Council for Place of Hope, and founded the Jimmy Martello Foundation. Tiano earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Dartmouth College. He is also the author of Structural Alpha: Building and Maintaining An Elite Wealth Management Practice.
Smyth has more than 25 years of wealth management experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was an Executive Director and Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Securities. He began his career at the Chicago Board of Trade and works with clients to develop comprehensive wealth planning and asset allocation strategies. Smyth serves on the board of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. He is Vice Chairman of Choate Rosemary Hall Alumni Association’s executive committee and is also Chairman of the school’s Annual Fund. Smyth is a Honda Classic Ambassador and an investment committee member of the Lost Tree Village Charitable Foundation. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University.
Ventura has more than 45 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan Securities. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director and Head Trader on Paine Webber’s Municipal Trading Desk. Earlier in his career, Ventura was Head of the Municipal Trading Desk for J.P. Morgan Private Bank, J.P. Morgan Securities and J.P. Morgan Private Wealth Management. He works with clients to implement and manage fixed income strategies. Ventura has served as a volunteer at Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s Pediatric Cancer Center for the past 21 years and also volunteers at The Hole in The Wall Gang Camp. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baruch College.
Tumba has more than 12 years of wealth management experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was an Executive Director and Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Securities, and he began his career at JP Morgan Chase & Co. Tumba works with clients to develop comprehensive wealth planning strategies with a special emphasis in business transition planning. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Palm Beach Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and was a founding member of the Sven Tumba Education Fund. Tumba earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. He holds several professional designations, including Chartered Financial Analyst®, Certified Investment Management Analyst®, Certified Private Wealth Advisor® and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional.
O’Brien has more than 15 years of wealth management experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was a Vice President at J.P. Morgan Securities. He works with clients to provide comprehensive financial planning with an emphasis in business transition planning. Earlier in his career, O’Brien worked for Wachovia (now Wells Fargo) and HSBC. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Florida Atlantic University. O’Brien is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional and a Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM.
Saville has more than seven years of financial services experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was an Investment Associate at J.P. Morgan Securities. Before that, he was a Portfolio Analyst at EJF Capital. Saville earned a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forrest University and an MBA from the College of William and Mary.
