We are now at a new inflection point where the efforts must shift to commercial execution. Greg deeply understands today’s consumers and has great expertise in general management, sales, digital marketing, e-commerce, new business models and innovation. He brings an ideal skill set to lead the team through this next stage and so we are all excited to have attracted an executive of his caliber to advance SpoonfulOne’s important work from here.”
“I would also thank, on behalf of the Board and our investors, Dr. Dombkowski for her vision and leadership in creating Before Brands. Dr. Dombkowski will continue her passion for helping patients with food allergy as CEO of Alladapt, and I look forward to continuing to work with her there.”
Commenting, Gregory Shewchuk said: “The statistics on the growing number of children at risk for developing a food allergy are staggering. So I am honored and energized to lead a company with such an extraordinary mission. SpoonfulOne has a very clear purpose: to help protect children from developing a food allergy and to allow their systems to grow up accustomed to a diverse range of foods. It is exceedingly rare to find a consumer product with the opportunity to reduce the risk of such a prominent and burdensome disease from developing by up to 80%. This proposition will be life-changing for so many families and I have a deep respect for the incredible work that has been done so far. I look forward to working closely with the exceptional team, the Board, and Nestlé Health Science to fully realize the potential of the SpoonfulOne platform and help healthy families stay that way.”
About Before Brands, Inc.
Before Brands is the inventor of SpoonfulOne™, a line of pediatric nutritional products made to reduce the risk that healthy babies will develop a food allergy. SpoonfulOne offers a range of products, all of which include a complete set of the proteins from the foods associated with more than 90% of food allergies around the world. All products are designed in single-serve, convenient formats staged to grow with your baby starting from around 4-6 months of age and continuing consistently through early childhood. This patented, evidence-based consumer product platform is based on insights and intellectual property on the benefits of early, sustained, simultaneous exposure to multiple commonly allergenic proteins that was developed by co-founder and inventor, Dr. Kari Nadeau. Dr. Nadeau is also director of the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research at Stanford University’s School of Medicine. The company is based in Menlo Park, CA and has been backed since inception by Gurnet Point Capital along with a consortium of families from the food allergy community.
