AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Embarcadero (a division of Idera, Inc.), a provider of cross-platform application developer productivity tools, today announced the release of RAD Studio 10.3.3 with new application development support for Android 64-bit and tooling for Docker containers.
With version 10.3.3, Delphi developers can write, compile, package, and deploy 64-bit apps for Android devices and deploy them to the Google Play Store, complete with integrated Android App Bundle support. This allows developers to build 64-applications for five platforms from a single Delphi codebase, including iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux.
RAD Studio 10.3.3 Android 64-bit support is based on a new Delphi LLVM compiler for the ARM platform and includes a runtime library, memory management, file system access, threading, HTTP libraries, database access, and Embarcadero’s multi-platform FireMonkey GUI framework. This allows developers to easily recompile existing Android 32-bit applications to target 64-bit from the same codebase they also use for iOS and desktop. Developers can also leverage InterBase 2020 support for Delphi Android 64-bit with embedded InterBase.
“Today, every company is a software company in the race to deploy, manage, and run enterprise applications for competitive advantage,” said Atanas Popov, general manager of Embarcadero and Idera’s Developer Tools division. “Scarce developer resources make this even more challenging. RAD Studio 10.3.3 is the fastest way to develop high-performance, native applications that can run on multiple platforms using the same code base. Nothing comes close in terms of efficiency and performance.”
RAD Studio 10.3.3 release also includes new tooling for Docker containers including scripts and ready-to-use Dockerfile images for RAD Server on Linux. This helps developers isolate application execution environments from one another while improving app portability and control.
Developers can also target iOS 13 and macOS Catalina with Dark Theme support for mobile applications and notarization capabilities for 64-bit macOS Delphi apps.
RAD Studio 10.3.3., including RAD Studio, Delphi, and C++ Builder, is available for download to any active Update Subscription customer and includes a one-year subscription license to FireDAC Enterprise Connectors for Enterprise and Architect edition users. These components allow connectivity to hundreds of databases and applications with easy visual configuration. Enterprise connectors are powered by CData, and include integration to popular applications such as QuickBooks, MailChimp, Salesforce, YouTube, SugarCRM, Jira, SurveyMonkey, Amazon DynamoDB, Couchbase, PayPal, eBay, Google Sheets, Facebook, Twitter, Slack, Dropbox and more.
RAD Studio’s rapid application development environment empowers developers to create fast, sophisticated, very high-performing applications for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux using the same native code base. Developers can spend less time building and maintaining routine code for GUIs, connectivity, and configuration, and more time optimizing differentiated features resulting in 5x productivity increases, while not sacrificing on native performance.
