IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Real Estate Professionals based in Salem, Oregon was awarded a $10,000 grant by the National Association of REALTORS® for the brokerage’s achievement in a new program establishing higher standards for professionalism in real estate. The presentation was made Nov. 8 during NAR’s Annual Conference and Expo in San Francisco. A second Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network member, Towne Realty’s Chesapeake Office, Chesapeake, Va., was a finalist in the competition.
NAR’s program, called Commitment to Excellence (C2EX), provides endorsement to brokerages, agents and other real estate organizations demonstrating knowledge and competency in 10 core areas of real estate practice: core service, professional reputation, real estate law, REALTOR Code of Ethics, equal service to all (Article 10 of the Code), advocacy of real property ownership, trust and integrity, use of technology, data privacy and areas of practice.
The grant was awarded in culmination of the C2EX Challenge, NAR’s competition to encourage brokerages and state and local REALTOR associations to promote C2EX participation among their agents and members.
“We congratulate Real Estate Professionals and Towne Realty for their commitment to the principles and processes of the C2EX program,” said Gino Blefari, chairman of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. “Their focus on C2EX endorsement is a true accomplishment and affirmation that they stand for professionalism and ethics in all they do.”
Byron Hendricks, president of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Real Estate Professionals, said he and his leadership team promoted C2EX participation during an April campaign. An impressive 94.5% of the brokerage’s 202 sales professionals earned C2EX endorsement from May through August.
“We fully believe in the C2EX program as it provides important, third-party affirmation that our team members are property trained and prepared in high-integrity real estate sales and processes,” Hendricks said. “C2EX endorsement means we are committed to practicing business at the highest professional standards with every client, every time.”
Grant winners are required to use the funds to help promote the program and its principles to REALTORS and the general public. Hendricks said his brokerage will place brand advertisements in the months ahead bearing the C2EX distinction and its meaning to real estate professionals and consumers.
“What an accomplishment to stand out prominently among NAR’s 1.3-million-REALTOR organization,” said Hendricks. “I’m proud and grateful for my team’s Commitment to Excellence in assisting our clients with their real estate needs.”
